Sliding Events

The region is known by surfers for the winds that sweep across the spots. This allows beaches such as La Franqui and Gruissan to host kitesurfing and windsurfing events and competitions.

*The Défi-Wind and Défi-Kite - 1200 participants for windsurfing and 400 for kitesurfing, amateurs and professionals are on the starting line in Gruissan to cover a dozen kilometres. A horde of colourful sails will split the sea on a round trip from Gruissan to Port-La-Nouvelle.

*The Mondial du Vent ? The Mondial du Vent is a well known festival where kitesurfers and windsurfers take over the spot of La Franqui during a week of show trials. Freestyle, speed and flight are on the programme.
